Pauli recommends Schafroth for a new post in Basel.

Pauli makes critical comments on Fierz's last letter and his calculations. He writes on speculations about C-, P-, T-invariance. Possibly it is not the strength of the interaction but primarily its form which determines C-, P-, T-invariance.

Pauli is against Heisenberg's approach to quantum electrodynamics. It is impossible to work only with energy-momentum values and the S-matrix and to disregard space and time. He talks about some clarifications on his own last letter but one. He writes on the separation of purely mathematical quantities from physically significant ones.

Pauli makes comments on the Farquhar-Landsberg paper (in: Proc. R. Soc. Lond., A : 239 (1957), pp.134) on statistical mechanics. The letter includes Fierz' views.

Pauli thanks Einstein for the proofs of his paper on "Fernparallellismus". Pauli remarks that from the viewpoint of quantum theory nothing can be said in favour of this new concept. He further criticizes the derivation of Einstein's field equations and their results which have lost contact with physical reality. He is ready to bet that in a year Einstein will drop the whole "Fernparallelismus".
