Pauli writes about his decision to remain in Zurich. For the USA he forsees, in about five years, the danger of increasing interference by the military authorities in physical research. As regards Einstein's field equations, he does not believe that the classical field thery can yield any new results. One has to wait for a new generation of young physicists. He also writes of Bertrand Russel's lectures in Zurich.

Pauli thanks Einstein for his manuscript "Quantum mechanics and reality" printed in Dialectica. He explains the difference between his own attitude to physics and Einstein's. Pauli believes that the description of reality as it is given by quantum mecahnics is complete.

Pauli makes further remarks on the problems of Elsasser's book and on his letter of the 15th September 1958.

This letter contains the continuation of a former letter of the same day (elsassers_0090). Pauli adds some remarks on entropy and information.

Pauli makes comments on the Farquhar-Landsberg paper (in: Proc. R. Soc. Lond., A : 239 (1957), pp.134) on statistical mechanics. The letter includes Fierz' views.

Pauli asks some questions concerning the relation of a paper by Majorana (published in: Nuovo Cimento: 1932) to Pauli and Fierz's theory about particles of arbitrary spin.

Pauli comments a letter from Fierz regarding the unitary representations of the Lorentz group.

Pauli makes some critical remarks on a letter by Fierz about the entropy change during a measurement. He adds a short reference to Bohr's view on this problem.

Pauli refers to some points for a future discussion with Fierz: 1) on the problem of divergencies in quantum electrodynamics 2) on the relation between concepts and sense perception. He also writes on the laws of nature as physical manifestation of archetypes and he refers to Kepler and his polemic with Fludd.
