Pauli thanks Wightman for his letter of the 6th January 1955 which settles all important mathematical questions.

Pauli replies to Weisskopf's letter. He asks why the cut-off radii of the proton and the neutron are exactly equal. He makes remarks on the quantum theory of fields, and Landau's contribution to this problem. He writes about Schindewolf's book on evolution recommended to him by Weisskopf.

Pauli expresses doubts as to the correctness of the two-component theory.

Pauli is very optimistic about the results so far. He suggests as a title for the the joint paper: "On the interpretation of isotopic spin". He gives some moreconclusions. He makes some mathematical comments on unitary and pseudo-unitary transformations, and the dichotomy of the vacuum.

Pauli says that he reached similar conclusions to Heisenberg.
