Pauli made some additions to Bhabha's paper for the Bohr Festschrift. He says it is impossible to quantize the Bhabha equation according to Fermi-Dirac statistics without using an indefinite metric in Hilbert-space. Pauli says he will know his future plans better in six months, including the possibility of a visit to the Tata-Institute (India).

Pauli thanks him for his congratulations concerning the Nobel ceremony and he reports on the physics meeting in New York at the end of January. Pauli is going on a trip with his wife in four weeks to Europe.

Pauli thanks him for the copy of the work "Relativistic wave equations for the protons" and gives some criticisms.

Pauli has just finished an article with Dancoff on meson theory and he sends its contents. He gives some comments on the war's consequences on physic.

It has been a long time since Pauli received a letter from Bhabha and he repeats the contents of his last letter.He reports on various works of Jauch (calculation of proton and neutron's magnetic moments) and of Pauli himself (on field quantizing after Dirac's new method and on his new theory on strong interconnection).

Pauli asks Bhabha for a paper for the Bohr Festschrift in the Rev. Mod. Physics. Pauli's plans for the future are still open. He may return to Zürich. Last autumn Pauli gave six lectures on meson theory in Cambridge, Massachusets. There is a discussion on Dirac's new effort to eliminate the second kind of divergencies by introducing an hypothetical world different from the actual world.

Comments on Bhabha's writings on wave equations for particles with higher spin. Bhabha asked Pauli to send his corrections to the editorial office of the Rev. Mod. Phys for printing.

Pauli has been in Princeton since the 24th February and he is making some inquiries on Bhabha's plans. He says that in Princeton the meson theory with particles in 1/2 speed is in vogue. He heard some contradictory news on Bohr.

Errors in a work of Wilson, on which Chakrabarty's research is founded invalidate Chakrabarty's conclusions. Pauli has returned to work at Princeton from his summer estate and asks Bhabha to write to him often as he is becoming isolated.

The letter contains a short remark on self-energy and a longer one meson-theory, with reference to papers by Schwinger and Oppenheimer.
