              Letter from Bohr to Pauli
              Letter-1187 · Pièce · 1950/12/23
Fait partie de Archives of Wolfgang Pauli

Bohr thanks Pauli for his congratulations on his 65th birthday. He writes about the double role of a human being as an observer and as an actor in the theatre of life. He also speaks of the preparation of an article on free will and life, and of a book based on his Grifford lecture.

              Letter from Pauli to Heisenberg
              Letter-1638 · Pièce · 1953/09/29
Fait partie de Archives of Wolfgang Pauli

Pauli writes more about form-factors. The analogon of the arbitrary cut between observed system and means of observation in field theory has yet to be found. Pauli thinks of some group-theoretical formulation by which the same physical object is either seen as source of the field or as produced field. He talks on ideas about the origin of life and its connection with the realization of low probabilities.

              Letter from Touschek to Pauli
              Letter-1650 · Pièce · 1953/10/10
Fait partie de Archives of Wolfgang Pauli

Touschek comments on Pauli's work on field equations. He considers one equation in field-free case and problems with invariance of the result.

              Letter from Jordan to Pauli
              Letter-1800 · Pièce · 1954/05/16
Fait partie de Archives of Wolfgang Pauli

Jordan replies to a letter by Pauli. He discusses the problem of probability of mutations and of the statistical independence of successive mutations and the necessity for distinguishing between micro- and macro-evolution. He agrees with Pauli that nothing can be said at present about the time scale of evolutionary processes.

              Letter from Pauli to Göhring
              Letter-1822 · Pièce · 1954/06/02
Fait partie de Archives of Wolfgang Pauli

Pauli replies to Göhring's letter of the 6 May 1954. He suggests "Science and Western Thought" as title for his lecture. He explains his meaning of "western".
