              Letter from Pauli to Schrödinger
              Letter-1428 · Pièce · 1952/06/26
Fait partie de Archives of Wolfgang Pauli

Pauli talks about Schrödinger's articles against quantum mechanics. Pauli is convinced that there is no return possible to the laws of nature before 1927.

              Letter from Pauli to Fierz
              Letter-1433 · Pièce · 1952/07/12
Fait partie de Archives of Wolfgang Pauli

Pauli makes a recapitulation of the axioms of the theory of probability and the law of large numbers and discusses the significance of the large deviation from the expected value. He also writes on the possibility of the influence on the results by the observer.

              Letter from Reichenbach to Pauli
              Letter-1445 · Pièce · 1952/08/09
Fait partie de Archives of Wolfgang Pauli

Reichenbach refers to Pauli's article on hidden parameters. He expresses satisfaction at Pauli's strong rejection of this idea. He comments on the method of his argument against it.

              Letter from Peierls to Pauli
              Letter-1453 · Pièce · 1952/08/20
Fait partie de Archives of Wolfgang Pauli

Peierls replies to two letters by Pauli. He comments Pauli's calculations as regards the non-local field theory, and on his view about the use of form-factors which may destroy the gauge invariance.

Fait partie de Archives of Wolfgang Pauli

Pauli writes about CERN's project. He comments on papers on the "casual interpretation" of quantum mechanics, particularly by Bohm.

              Letter from Pauli to Bohr
              Letter-1462 · Pièce · 1952/09/16
Fait partie de Archives of Wolfgang Pauli

Pauli thanks Bohr for his letter of the 7th August and he is glad to inform him that they got a stipend of 3000 Swiss francs for Alder as a contribution to the costs for his stay in Copenhagen. Pauli hopes that Bohr can get an additional contribution which will enable him to be in Copenhagen for 6 months starting about October the first. Pauli has had interesting ongoing discussions with Møller-Kristensen and with Peierls on the formfactor theories. Like Bohr, Pauli thinks it unlikely that they will make real progress this way, but it seems to Pauli to be of interest to learn a little more about where formally the limitations of these models become obvious. Pauli received from Schrödinger the proofs of a paper (British Journal of Philosophy of Science) of which Pauli was unable to make any sense. It is in a way even more empty than Bohm's attempts to resume de Broglies old wave theory.

              Letter from Pauli to Jordan
              Letter-1468 · Pièce · 1952/10/01
Fait partie de Archives of Wolfgang Pauli

Pauli thanks Jordan for his book "Schwerkraft und Weltall". He has also read Ludwig's book on progress in projective theory of relativity. He thinks that the projective formulation (homogeneous coordinates) does not improve or add anything to Kaluza's formulation. He asks about the recent value of the Hubble constant. The idea of a changing gravitational constant seems plausible to him.
