              Letter from Fierz to Pauli
              Letter-1292 · Item · 1951/10/17
Part of Archives of Wolfgang Pauli

Fierz gives some developments about the problem of space, and the ideas of Newton and the Cambridge "Platonists" of his time. He makes some remarks on Pauli's suggestions about the word "automorphism" on generalization of the quaternity (+,-) and (p, q).

In this letter, Fierz derives the general expansion for half-integral "Eigenfunctions" of the symmetric top using infinitesimal rotations.

              Letter-1351 · Item · 1952/01/24
Part of Archives of Wolfgang Pauli

Fierz responds to Pauli's aversion to the half-integral rotation group by deriving its properties. He gives in attachment Pauli's calculations. Fierz also defends Bohm's ideas against Pauli's criticism.

              Letter from Fierz to Pauli
              Letter-1483 · Item · 1952/10/21
Part of Archives of Wolfgang Pauli

Fierz defends his position that entropy is the "measure of information" obtained by an observer. He examines information obtained in classical theory from observation of changing macrostate; in quantum theory from observation of microstate that is then generalized to a macrostate. He claims entropy exists only with observation.

              Letter from Fierz to Pauli
              Letter-1801 · Item · 1954/05/18
Part of Archives of Wolfgang Pauli

Fierz discusses the question of which representations of the homogeneous group can be contained in the inhomogeneous Lorentz group.
