Pauli invites Born to contribute to an issue of the Rev. of Mod. Phys. in honour of Bohr's 60th birthday.

Pauli declines Born's proposition to become a member of a "political party with a red stamp" or to sign "any open letter". Instead of taking part to a East-West world division, Pauli would more encourage a synthesis between asiatic wisdom and occidental sciences, which is more application oriented. He gives some thoughts on the behavior of a scientist on political questions. He also talks about his interest in Fröhlich's theory of supraconductivity.

Pauli returns to a problem discussed at the Florence conference concerning irreversibility and the H-theorem.
