Pauli expresses his doubts about Lopes last results, because of the inconsistency of the pertubation method used by him. He mentions similar difficulties in previous work by other authors.

Pauli writes about his decision to stay in Zürich and about the negotiations with Swiss authorities, and also about his impression of the scientific level of Swiss physics. He writes about the first European Physics conference after the war, in Cambrigde.

Pauli writes about his renouncing the partnership with Heisenberg. He thinks there are mistakes in Heisenberg's integration of his equation. Futher, if one attempts to loosen either the causality or the unitarity of the metric, this leads to disastrous results in relativistic theories. His impression is that one has to wait for new physical ideas, because mathematical virtuosity alone cannot lead to the discovery of new laws of nature.

Pauli comments on calculations made by Jauch. He writes of a letter from Bhabha (Bangalore) about the spin of the mesons. He comments on rumours about Heisenberg's idea of a fundamental length. Pauli is sceptical because he sees no connection with the atomicity of the electric charge.
