Pauli writes about depression and on the common roots of scientific and religious feelings in him. He also makes references to his dream from the 24 October 1955 and his lecture in Mainz.

Pauli writes about the English translation of his book on relativity. In continuation of his letter of the 27 January 1956, he comments a meeting in Hamburg, on the 1 December 1955, with somebody he has not seen for thirty years and relates this experience to his striving for a balance of the "internal" and "external".
