              Letter from Pauli to Jauch
              Letter-0675 · Stuk · 1943/07/15
Part of Archives of Wolfgang Pauli

Pauli comments on calculations made by Jauch. He writes of a letter from Bhabha (Bangalore) about the spin of the mesons. He comments on rumours about Heisenberg's idea of a fundamental length. Pauli is sceptical because he sees no connection with the atomicity of the electric charge.

Pauli discusses Schwinger's modification, published in: Physical review: (1942), 61, 387, of the Rosenfeld-Moller meson exchange theory. He obtains equations for deuteron ground state and discusses the attempts to solve them, with applications to scattering and work in

Part of Archives of Wolfgang Pauli

Eliezer replies to Pauli's letter of the 10th October 1943. He gives some calculations on the problem of the motion of an electron in a photon field.

Lopes writes about the interaction energy of two heavy particles in the pseudoscalar meson theory, with reference to calculations by Kemmer.

              Letter-0719 · Stuk · 1945/03/29
Part of Archives of Wolfgang Pauli

Pauli asks Bhabha for a paper for the Bohr Festschrift in the Rev. Mod. Physics. Pauli's plans for the future are still open. He may return to Zürich. Last autumn Pauli gave six lectures on meson theory in Cambridge, Massachusets. There is a discussion on Dirac's new effort to eliminate the second kind of divergencies by introducing an hypothetical world different from the actual world.

Pauli writes about reports on efforts to find new positive particles. He writes about the situation in Switzerland during last winter and about the situation in Holland. He writes about the preparation of the Bohr-Festschrift.

Part of Archives of Wolfgang Pauli

Pauli thanks for a paper sent in honour of Bohr's 60th birthday. He cannot accept Dirac's theory from the standpoint of physics because it leads to results contradicting the required correspondence to the classical theory.
