Letter from Pauli to Ehrenfest
Letter-0215 · Unidad documental simple · 1929/02/15

Pauli gives some personal evaluations of Oppenheimer and Bloch. He also comments on Rutgers and his progress with quantum electrodynamics.

Letter from Pauli to Sommerfeld
Letter-0225 · Unidad documental simple · 1929/05/16
Parte de Archives of Wolfgang Pauli

Pauli critizices the treatment of photoelectric and Compton effects in Sommerfeld's Atombau. He reports on Rabi's work on X-ray absorbtion. He talks about Oppenheimer's paper in Z. Phys. on continuous X-ray spectra.

Letter from Pauli to Ehrenfest
Letter-0230 · Unidad documental simple · 1929/07/07

Pauli discusses the question of the width of the zero-order spectrum of a refracted electron beam. He suggests that Kramers should calculate it for gases or liquids.

Letter from Pauli to Bohr
Letter-0231 · Unidad documental simple · 1929/07/17
Parte de Archives of Wolfgang Pauli

Pauli urges Bohr again to publish his note on the magnetic electron. He criticizes his note on Beta-rays. Pauli plans to use a short visit to Copenhagen for writing a joint paper with Oppenheimer. He is not satisfied about his joint work with Heisenberg, because of the difficulties of the self-energy of electrons.

Letter from Pauli to Einstein
Letter-0239 · Unidad documental simple · 1929/12/19
Parte de Archives of Wolfgang Pauli

Pauli thanks Einstein for the proofs of his paper on "Fernparallellismus". Pauli remarks that from the viewpoint of quantum theory nothing can be said in favour of this new concept. He further criticizes the derivation of Einstein's field equations and their results which have lost contact with physical reality. He is ready to bet that in a year Einstein will drop the whole "Fernparallelismus".

Letter from Einstein to Pauli
Letter-0240 · Unidad documental simple · 1929/12/24
Parte de Archives of Wolfgang Pauli

Einstein replies to Pauli's criticism of his new field theory, the "Fernparallelismus". He thinks that it is too early to dismiss it in the way Pauli does. Einstein is not against the quantum theory but he does not believe that real insight can be reached through statistical laws. He asks Pauli to look again in his theory without any prejudice.
