Part of Archives of Wolfgang Pauli

Heisenberg writes about the Einstein - de Haas effect, the failure of Bohr's theory of He, his own work with Born and about Lande's theory of multiplets.

Part of Archives of Wolfgang Pauli

Heisenberg corrects a mistake he made in an earlier letter to Pauli, where he wrote "Einkristall" but meant 'Kristallgitter". He claims that calculation of energy levels in the new quantum mechanics is completely fixed once the multiplication rule for Fourier series is accepted. He is convinced that the new quantum mechanics is correct.

Heisenberg writes about recent developments in the formalism of quantum mechanics, perturbation theory and some results for systems with axial symmetry.

Heisenberg writes about the problem of continuous spectra from the point of view of quantum mechanics. The effect of time dependent external forces on the atom, and Jordan's calculations of the statistical behaviour of proper vibration of a membrane according to the new theory.
