Pauli writes about his impression of Jules Romain's book "Violation des frontières", and about Soal and Bateman's book "Modern Experiments in Telepathy". He thinks that many people wrongly prefer to declare invalid large parts of science rather than to admit the existence of ESP. For him the mixture of mystics and mathematics is still dominant, and parapsychology and biology also interest him.

Referring to Bohr's lecture "On the unity of knowledge", Pauli mentions his misunderstandings with Bohr concerning the concept of the "detached observer", the concept of reality in atomic physics, Bohr's conception of "complementarity" as foundation of a world religion, and the use of the concept "antinomic" (antinomisch).

Pauli comments on the "relationship of opposites" such as God and Man.
