Bohr expresses satisfaction at having met Pauli in Göttingen. He writes about a remark made by Lenz on selection absorption of harmonics in the case of an unharmonic oscillator.
Bohr, NielsBohr discusses Pauli's paper "Zs. Phys. : 31 (1925), pp.765" of which Pauli has sent a manuscript. The letters contains a long discussion of the electron groups and the periodic table. He also writes on fluorescence radiation.
Bohr, NielsBohr thanks Pauli for his beautiful paper. He wants to refer to it in a note.
Bohr, NielsIn April, Darwin, Kramers, Goudsmit and Waller are expected to come to Copenhagen. Bohr asks Pauli if he could also come.
Bohr, NielsBohr explains that he has not yet answered Pauli's letters and cards because of a lack of interest in Pauli's questions concerning his calculations of scattering of high frequent radiation from bound electrons. During the last week he has thought much about it and discussed it with Bloch. He also has some remarks about it and he would like to know Pauli's opinion.
Bohr, NielsBohr has sent a manuscript with the preparation of his discussion remarks from Brussels to Langevin. He is sending now another copy to Pauli and he would be very glad to hear his opinion before he gets the proofs. Bohr and Rosenfeld are eagerly awaiting the promised article with Weisskopf. He need not say how pleased he was to hear that there is a possibility of a visit by Pauli to Copenhagen in Spring. Perhaps Heisenberg and Dirac will come too. Bohr's own journey to Russia should take place in the beginning of May, and Margrethe and Rosenfeld will accompany him on the journey.
Bohr, NielsBohr was glad to receive Pauli's article which gives an excellent account of Einstein's pioneering work in quantum theory. Bohr does not know what to answer to Pauli's questions concerning some changes Bohr should make in his paper. The detailed account of the discussions which he had first planned turns out to be much too long for the occasion. Therefore, he is trying to confine himself to the general epistemological aspects of the attitude taken in the discussions, and he has started on a much shorter article which he hopes to have ready very soon. In a few days Bohr will write to Pauli again and tell him how things stand so that it can be decided how to make the best out of it all.
Bohr, NielsBohr asks for Pauli's comments on his paper with Kramer and Slater and for suggestions on how to improve this text.
Bohr, NielsBohr has heard that Pauli developed new thoughts on the mystic of relativity in the atom theory and is asking for some developments.
Bohr, NielsBohr discusses the "Gospel of the magnetic electron". He writes that Kramers has confirmed Pauli and Heisenberg's calculations. Bohr is still hoping for a correspondence agreement. Kramers made a guess as to the relativistic and magnetic corrections, the relevant formulae are given in the letter.
